SassyTechGirl's Everyday Apps!

Hello fellow blog readers! Happy Tuesday, before I get started on this blog I just wanted to give a quick shout out to are American Soldiers for the hard work they do. Thank god Osama Bin Laden has been put to justice.  Today I will be writing about my top most used Android applications, these are apps that I use at least once a week and I would recommend them to anyone. Some of these apps are common sense but you would be surprised how many people either don’t know about them or they don’t use them because there unsure of what they do.  So let’s get started! Feel free to post a comment telling me what you use on an everyday bases.

Gmail: Gmail is my main e-mail client, every android user has a Gmail account because when buying a phone you must have or sign up with Gmail to use the phone properly. Over the past few months of having Android OS, I have really come to love this e-mail program. The e-mails come in fast and the alerts work very well.

eBuddy Messenger: A lot of people are looking for a great client for messaging with aol, yahoo, hotmail, facebook, Icq pretty much any messenger services is available. I like this client because it’s reliable, Loads fast and you’re able to manage all you’re accounts easily. The only down fall for some people would be that you have to sign up for a free eBuddy Messenger ID.

Best Buy: I am a huge electronic fan so this application is a must for me. Best Buy is one of my favorite stores so I love to have this to be able to find out what’s on sale, Browse the weekly advertisement, Scan QR codes in stores and browse products. I like how fast this application loads and you’re able to check you’re reward zone points and status. Plus a search bar for finding items.

Applanet: This is an application store other then the market where you can get games and apps for free of charge many applications/games are not available in the Android market and some are but are free on Applanet. This application cannot be installed from the Android market you can find it at http://applanet.net/ this is easy to install and fun.

Beautiful Widget HTC Flip Clock:  I love this widget it gives the feel of a HTC phone and tells the latest weather with a picture it’s very pretty. You can find this application by going to your browser on your phone and typing in 4shared.com in the search engine on 4shared type in Beautiful.apk and download the file that say’s Beautiful HTC Flip clock! I’ve had lots of questions about this Widget and where I have got it at I love it and haven’t experienced any issues with it.

QR Droid: This application is great to scan QR Codes or make free QR Codes you can also make you’re contact, Calendar or URL a QR Code.  If you find a QR Code anywhere this phone will scan it with ease.

ShopSavvy: Is my preferred Barcode scanner.  This application allows you to scan a barcode and find the cheapest prices and reviews on the products it also tells what other people are scanning and searching for its by far the easiest quickest scanner application.

Note Everything: I use this application to make notes!  I love the fact that you can make file folders and calendar notes plus sticky notes if you need them. This really goes beyond a notepad there is so much more you can do with it.

Cardio Trainer: I love this application if you like to take walks or a run or any type of exercise this is the application.  I like to take my dog for a walk and the gps will show everywhere you are walking it will tell the distance how much you have walked and how many calories you have burned as you go it also lets you make playlist with your music player and it will play you’re songs and frequently tell you what speed you’re moving and how far you have went.  It also tells you, you’re history and has some amazing settings this application even goes beyond everything I’ve said it has so much to offer you can get it free in the market.

TV Guide: I like this application because I always want to know what’s on TV. With this application you can search for TV listings find out the news search for programs and favorite programs. Another cool application.
Flikie Wallpaper: I did a review of this application on my YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/sassygirl8324 I love this app for high def. wallpaper for any android phone. It’s free at the android market.
Facebook: A must have application if you’re a facebook fan.

SuperBox: Review coming on my YouTube channel another great settings application I use this one every day I like it better then the Android OS settings.

Mr. Number: Are you sick of people calling you and bothering you? This application can block unwanted calls. It also allows you to block those unwanted unrestricted callers! This is a must have for me.
Twitter: This is just the standard twitter client works just as good as any other.

Well guy’s here are my top applications! What do you enjoy!? I hope you all enjoyed this and you’re having a fabulous week. Thanks for taking the time to read... Until next time God bless...

Nintendo Ds great Babysitting tool?

Sony’s CEO Jack Tretton made a comment last week saying the Nintendo DS was a great babysitting tool and that no twenty something person is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those, when I read this article when it was first released I couldn’t believe it. There has always been a disagreement between those who are Nintendo fans and Song but to say such a comment is ridicules.

As a twenty something with a Nintendo Ds system with many games I seem to find this statement almost laughable of the ignorance. Mario is too childish? Since when did anyone put a banned on how old you are to enjoy a video game no matter the age? Not everyone is interested in the Xbox and Playstation games I mean how many war games and madden football can be made plus it’s not everyone’s cup of tea to enjoy blood and gut violence on are consoles some of us just want to relax with something fun.  As for the comment about Mario this is a classic game that people have been playing since the 80s most of us have grown up with the many Mario series of games, What Sony game has done that? People young and old still enjoy it.

The game line up for the Nintendo Ds is huge there is games of all types and some of the best games out there are made from Nintendo ds, a babysitting toy? The new Nintendo 3DS is a 250 dollar device would you let a child you’re babysitting play it? I highly doubt that. Not to mention the fact that Sony has been stealing Nintendo’s ideas for years!  After looking at the PSP and the lineup of games I was trying to decide if I would want this system with the new price drop, quite honestly after reading this article I wouldn’t give Sony a red cent. Making jokes and bashing a company to attempt to gain customers is a low blow especially to a company who has been above them for years!

“Nice try Sony!”

Boost Mobile Samsung Galaxy Prevail

A happy Sunday blogger readers, I hope that everyone enjoyed the weekend.  I’m sorry as of late that I haven’t got any blog post out to you guys, I have been fighting a case of bronchitis and some other family related issues but I am finally back and ready to go.  Boost Mobile has finally introduced its first ever CDMA Android device the Samsung Galaxy Prevail and I’m super excited about it. Currently I’m running the Samsung Intercept on Virgin Mobile’s unlimited plan at 60 dollars a month and I’m considering the switch to Boost when the Prevail hits markets later this month.  I’ve already had questions on my Twitter account asking why I would switch and there are some very good points I would like to make.

Currently Virgin Mobile’s unlimited plan is running 60 dollars a month where Boost Mobile is 50 that may not be that much of a difference but when you throw in Boost Mobile’s new shrinkage the plan look’s more appealing. Boost Mobile’s service starts at 50 dollars and when you sign up for Shrinkage after 6 payments you’re plan goes down to 45$ after  twelve payments 40$ and after eighteen 35$ it’s almost as if there rewarding you to use their service and after the Prevail is released it won’t be hard not to want it.

The Samsung Galaxy Prevail is an Android platform 2.2 Froyo phone. With a 2 MP Camera with video. The phone offers an Accelerometer, Built in speaker phone, Android Market, GPS, IM and Email of course. This phone will fit my needs perfectly and I cannot wait to get a review up to you guys. Although Boost Mobile has no officially said when this phone will come to a market near you, I’m guessing around April 14th so what do you think of this new Android device? Thanks again for taking the time to read this blog! You guys are great! Enjoy the upcoming week and I’ll see you all in my next video/blog.

Do you Animal Crossing?

A happy St. Patrick’s day to my fellow bloggers let’s hope for a win for Michigan State tonight.  Today’s blog post is one that I’ve wanted to write for quite some time.  Do you play any version of Animal Crossing? This is one of my favorite games of all time. Animal Crossing the original was released on the old Game cube consul, unfortunately I didn’t buy a Game Cube when it came out, and I sure did miss a lot of really great games. Now that I have a Nintendo Wii I bought the Original Animal crossing. A few years later Animal Crossing Wild world came out on the Nintendo DS and the more recent version Animal Crossing City folk came out on the wii in 2008. With the release of the newest Animal Crossing version for the Nintendo 3DS upon us there’s not a better time to speak about this great game.

Animal Crossing is one of them game’s that you can play for countless hours there’s really no losing or winning in this game but there sure is hours of entertainment. Animal Crossing is a platform game like Sim’s but in my opinion way better.  The objective is simple make a town and live in it. Each town has select neighbors’ that are animals there’s hundreds of different ones so you can be guaranteed that you will have different ones then most of your friends.

There are many things to do on animal crossing such as fishing to earn Bells; Bells are currency on Animal crossing, Catching bugs, Shopping and visiting friend’s on Wi-Fi. Thousands of people play Animal Crossing every day from age’s  four to sixty that’s right I said sixty, I’ve met a few of these older gamers their amazing people. This game has been such a hit for Nintendo there is even a forum that many visit every day with free guides and people to meet to play on Wi-Fi with, it’s also very surprising some people still believe the original game cube version of Animal crossing is the best and still play this great game.

Anyway guy’s what game’s do you enjoy? Do you spend countless hours on it? I will leave you guy’s with that thought and a video of one of my old Animal Crossing City folk towns! Again thank you for taking the time to read my blog. You guys rock!
