Mario Kills Tanooki ..

Hello fellow blog readers! Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve wrote a blog post. I hope this post finds everyone healthy and happy.  Earlier today PETA put out a statement about the newest Nintendo game “Super Mario 3D Land” for most Nintendo fans this game has been one of the most anticipated games of the year, with its amazing graphics and the comeback of the famous Tanooki suit. For those of you who don’t know what a Tanooki suit is, it’s a special power up leaf that gives Mario the ability to wear a raccoon suit so that he can use his tail to defeat enemies and fly, this outfit originally came out in October 1988 on Super Mario Bros 3.

Peta’s statement came out by surprise the people for the ethical treatment of animals claim the suit is doing a un justice to raccoon dog’s, saying that the wearing the skin of a animal such as the tanooki  will power people to slaughter animals for fur clothes to wear and that the video game makes it okay to do so.

As a fellow Nintendo fan I was nearly shocked to read this statement from Peta, But what really took the cake was when I went to the Peta webpage at features.peta.org/Mario-kills-tanooki/ This page Peta has put together with a video game called Super Tanooki Skin 2D with a bloody picture of Mario holding the head of a raccoon with a video under the game called take action to save raccoon dogs. Along with some other stuff making fun of Nintendo and McDonalds.

I've been a Nintendo fan since I was a child; I spent countless hours playing super Mario bros 3 when the Tanooki suit was released. I find this statement from peta almost to be a joke for attention. While playing Super Mario Bros 3 I never once thought about the Tanooki suit as something bad or thought hey that’s cool looking on Mario I want to slaughter an animal and get me a suit too. That’s a crazy thought from them and this is coming from an animal lover, I would never harm one. I do plan to buy Super Mario 3D land. In my opinion it’s a cartoon and harming an animal because it is the last on a Nintendo fans mind.

I’m very curious about how Nintendo will handle the accusations from Peta; I also wonder if there will be a lawsuit on Nintendo’s side for remaking the Mario character into a game such as Peta did.  I really hope that this ridicules nonsense will blow over soon! But again guy’s what are your thoughts? Do you agree with Peta? Or do you feel the same as I do?

Sassy’s game picks from the Nintendo E3 Conference.

Hello fellow blog readers, I hope you’re all feeling great and enjoying the week.  Sorry I was unable to touch base yesterday after the E3 conference. There have been a lot of great things released from Nintendo over the last 24 hours and I would love to give my ideas on the new upcoming game line up.  Let’s get started.

Mario Kart for the 3DS this game is hot looking the previews where so exciting from the video clip this time around you will be able to customize your car and wheels, for me customization is always great. Nintendo also added a lot of great tracks, But I think what blew everyone away was the fact that the Mario kart can now drive in water and it also has a glider to go into the air the video clip was great this game has graphics that are so impressive for a handheld system.

Super Mario on the 3DS another game with stunning graphics. From the preview of this one, it almost reminded me of the Mario Galaxy Series of games one of my favorites of all time. Mario’s back with his tail as Tanooki It’s been such a long time since we have seen that. In this new Mario series, Nintendo has added new enemies to fight, this is looking great and where told it will be released this year!

Animal Crossing 3D! This is the game I’ve been waiting to hear about since Nintendo 1st spoke about it last year. Although Nintendo didn’t have time to discuss this game during E3 they released a new video clip on it and boy am I excited. Being a huge AC fan seeing the trailer I was quite amazed by everything they have added and this game is still in the works so it could even get more. With the new Animal Crossing you will be able to now add clothes to your character such as pants, skirts and other items you couldn’t have before.. The town looks beautiful on the 3DS and they even brought back the tents and during the video the character jumped off the dock into the water swimming YES! Does this indicate that during the winter we will be able to walk on the frozen water?? I am hoping for this to come out this year..

Luigi’s Mansion 2 will be released for the 3DS and this has to be the second most exciting game for me. Unfortunately I missed out on the first Luigi Mansion but I seen the screen shots for that game and it looked great. Luigi has to be one of my favorite Nintendo characters and I love that Nintendo made a game for just him.  Nintendo has also told us this game will not just be one Mansion it will be a couple.  I really hope this game comes out during October it would make a cutie Halloween special from Nintendo.

Kirby Returns to Dream Land on the Wii, Kirby’s Epic yarn was my 1st ever Kirby game and I instantly fell in love with the cute little pink guy.  Kirby’s back and changing into all types of objects a sword, whip and leaf also Nintendo tells us that there will be new super abilities another great cute game.

Go Vacation is coming to the Wii this fall from NAMCO BANDAI this game looks like a lot of fun for really anyone and reminds me of some of the Wii Motion Plus games. Including Swimming, Water Rafting, Volleyball, Scuba Diving and water guns it looks action pack and fun.

These are the games that I’m most excited about that where introduced at E3 this year there are many that I didn’t discuss in this blog feel free to visit Nintendo.com for the latest releases. Also I will continue in the coming week on my thoughts on the new Nintendo Wii U system and controller. Thanks again for reading this blog and have a wonderful rest of the week.

Nintendo Ds great Babysitting tool?

Sony’s CEO Jack Tretton made a comment last week saying the Nintendo DS was a great babysitting tool and that no twenty something person is going to be sitting on an airplane with one of those, when I read this article when it was first released I couldn’t believe it. There has always been a disagreement between those who are Nintendo fans and Song but to say such a comment is ridicules.

As a twenty something with a Nintendo Ds system with many games I seem to find this statement almost laughable of the ignorance. Mario is too childish? Since when did anyone put a banned on how old you are to enjoy a video game no matter the age? Not everyone is interested in the Xbox and Playstation games I mean how many war games and madden football can be made plus it’s not everyone’s cup of tea to enjoy blood and gut violence on are consoles some of us just want to relax with something fun.  As for the comment about Mario this is a classic game that people have been playing since the 80s most of us have grown up with the many Mario series of games, What Sony game has done that? People young and old still enjoy it.

The game line up for the Nintendo Ds is huge there is games of all types and some of the best games out there are made from Nintendo ds, a babysitting toy? The new Nintendo 3DS is a 250 dollar device would you let a child you’re babysitting play it? I highly doubt that. Not to mention the fact that Sony has been stealing Nintendo’s ideas for years!  After looking at the PSP and the lineup of games I was trying to decide if I would want this system with the new price drop, quite honestly after reading this article I wouldn’t give Sony a red cent. Making jokes and bashing a company to attempt to gain customers is a low blow especially to a company who has been above them for years!

“Nice try Sony!”

Club Nintendo

Are you a gamer? Thousands of us buy multiple games every month. Lots of people are unaware about Nintendo’s reward program called Club Nintendo this website is a free rewards program, Have you seen the slips in your recent games or consuls that say join us at Club Nintendo? Almost every game and equipment you buy from Nintendo comes with a secret code to register on Club Nintendo.

Club Nintendo is a website based on getting your thoughts about your recent bought items from Nintendo what happens is you add you're Secret code into the Registry and Nintendo will give you a short survey asking you where you bought your new game or equipment and what made you buy it, 90 percent of the questions are multiple choice. After you finish the survey you will be given coins, within a few weeks to a month you will get another survey on your account asking you what you thought of the game after playing it. This is a great idea on Nintendo's part because it will help them to determine on how future games and equipment will be made so you're answers are very important.

The best thing about Club Nintendo is earning coins and they sure build up fast a lot of the games you register are 50 coins each plus the additional 20 coins for the after survey, These coins can be redeemed for limited edition Nintendo products such as Nintendo Dsi cases, Mario shelf’s and Animal Crossing Playing cards along with free shipping this is a great deal just for a couple of surveys to help are gaming community get better stuff released.

Also when you buy things from Nintendo and you register it you will gain status you will go from gold status to platinum status to elite status. The Club Nintendo year begins July 1st and ends on June 30th club Nintendo members that reach gold or platinum status by the end of the Nintendo year get sent another limited edition product! I'm currently on platinum and heading for elite! Got to love Nintendo what other gaming company does this for their fans? So next time when you buy a new game check for the Club Nintendo paper inside you won’t be disappointed. Thanks so much for reading my blog.
