Virgin Mobile Lg Optimus V Review

Hello fellow tech friends. If you follow me on twitter and watch my YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/sassygirl8324 you know that I finally got my hands on the much anticipated Lg Optimus V. I’ve had many questions before the release date on the Optimus, Such as when I would buy this phone and when would there be a review?  I was very happy with my Samsung Intercept from Virgin Mobile I had never had an Android phone when I received the Intercept so I had no clue what I was getting into. But after having the Intercept, I was quite afraid that the Optimus V wouldn’t live up to the standerads after having the Intercept especially when the Intercept had a physical keyboard. Unfortunitly Thursday morning I dropped my Intercept in water and it fried the system board, The Lights come on and the phone will begin to start up but will freeze at the Samsung logo and will not turn on.  This was very upsetting for me because like I said I had gotten the Intercept when it came out and it was the first phone I was really happy with.

Saturday I was able to pick up the Lg Optimus V from Best Buy Mobile. The first thing I did was bring it home and get an unboxing out to my YouTube followers. The box included the Obvious, Phone, Charger, Data cord, Micro SD Card 2Gigs, SD Adapter and Stereo headset! I was super happy to see that a Micro SD adapter was included because it just makes it a lot simpler for transferring photos and music to my computer from my phone.

I really liked the cosmetic design of this cell phone it looks professional and I like the feel of the paint it has a soft texture to it. The Silver lining at the top of the phone gives the Optimus V a professional look almost as if it is steel.  On the top of the phone there’s a on off power switch that doubles to shut the screen of like a lock screen or sleep. Also on the top of the phone you will find a headset jack that will support all your standard headphones. On the left side of the Optimus V you will find a Micro SD card slot where you will find the two gigabyte SD card it will be pre loaded. The bottom has a charging port for the standard Lg charger. On the right you will find a volume rocker, dedicated camera key and a voice dialer key. The Lg Optimus is a full touch screen but features four soft keys for Android the menu, home, back and search keys. With the 3.2 inch touch screen I find this phone’s screen larger than the Intercept even though there the same size the Optimus V is wider so it gives the feeling of a larger screen.  I love the feeling of this phone it feels like it has some weight to it and doesn’t at all feel cheap.

This phone runs Android 2.2 Operating system and you can definitely tell the difference after running the intercepts older Os, Applications run smoothly with no leg or freezing. Occasionally the Intercept would freeze a second and then say it wasn’t responding, I have yet to have an issue of freezing or not responding with the Optimus V.

A lot of people have asked me about the texting on this phone because of the lack of a physical keyboard. I would promote a physical keyboard over not having one anytime. But I can tell you the touch screen on this phone is super easy to use and I haven’t had any issues writing e-mails or sending text messages.  This phone has Swype texting and although a lot of people have had complaints about this not working, I’ve even seen post that Swype texting is worthless. I have used Swype to write e-mails and I’ve enjoyed it. 90 percent of the time Swype gets the correct word that I am trying to write and I find it a lot of fun to use Swype, This may not be for everyone but you should definitely check it out if you get this phone. The Lg Optimus comes with a lot of pre loaded software that I would call bloatwear such as Twidroyd I found Twidroyd pretty much useless and for some strange reason you’re unable to uninstall the preloaded applications unless you root your phone. The Bloatwear and the fact of not having speed dial on this handset are basically the only complaint about this phone and that is definitely not a reason to not check out this phone especially for a price tag of 149.99 that’s a huge steel when you figure in the fact that the Samsung Intercept was 250 when it was released.

There are many cool features on the new Lg Optimus such as live wallpapers; even though this could significantly reduce battery life it’s very neat to have with the option to download other live wallpapers from the Android Market.  I also found that Yahoo Messenger has a patch that can be downloaded so that you can make free video calls to anyone on your messenger list and even though the Optimus V doesn’t have a front facing camera it works great and is fun.

Something that I found very interesting about the Lg Optimus V was this phone was the first I have had from Virgin Mobile that gave me 3G service, I found that great but wondered how come it never worked on any of the other phones, None the less I’m super happy with the faster internet speed. Wi-Fi worked great except I found out it would shut off within 5 minutes of being in sleep but I was able to find a simple fix for that issue by going to settings, Wireless & Networks, Wi-Fi Settings , Menu Key , Advanced, Wi-Fi Sleep Policy and then I put the phone on Never so the Wi-Fi won’t shut off.

For a phone that I had my doubts about, I’m extremely happy with the Lg Optimus V and I would recommend anyone looking for a new cell phone to buy this phone. Virgin Mobile offers great plans on their phones from 25 to 60 dollars a month unlimited. I’ve been a customer for Virgin Mobile since 2002 and I’m very happy with their service.  Thanks again for reading my blog enjoy the week.

Steve Jobs 6 Weeks To Live "Geeks Unite"

I don't normally post blog's like this on my technology blog but I have received many questions about my thoughts on the latest information on Steve Jobs. On many news articles there has been news that Steve Jobs has six weeks to live there have been many YouTube videos made from fans of Steve's and the tech community has united in this horrible event.

Recently Ceo of Apple Steve Jobs took time off to focus on his health. Steve has been fighting pancreatic cancer which grows on your digestive system. It provides insulin and releases hormones which work in conjunction to digestion.

As I said I've had people ask me my thoughts on this tragedy and if I think that Apple will die without Steve Jobs. But before I address that I would like to state my opinion. I've noticed a lot of hate comments coming from none apple fans! Let it be clear that I myself am not a huge apple fan. But I have read the hate comments including the latest on a Chris Prillo video asking  what you will do when Steve passes a child answered with I will through a party, This answer has been ragging are tech community. Even if you hate Apple there's no excuse not to have respect not only because Steve Jobs is a person just like us but also someone who has helped are technology community advance in so many ways! Have some respect this could be your father, uncle or brother. Apple consumers are some of the most passionate people around about their technology so a lot of people are taking this tragedy to heart so let’s try to support them as best as possible.

As far as Apple going under without Steve Jobs I believe that is UN real. Steve has definitely made the company what it is today but I believe some of his ideas will live on forever.  So to the Family and followers of Steve Jobs let's keep them in are heart and prayers!

Game Review 1.2 Mario Sports Mix

Happy Valentine’s Day Fellow Blog Readers.
Early last week Mario returned with a much anticipated game called Mario Sports Mix.  I found out about this game in early December when I received my monthly Nintendo subscription e-mail. When I went to the website to check out this game I was stunned by the beautiful colors and the amazing graphics and of course because this is a Mario game I had to get it.

Mario Sports Mix features four different full length sports games, Basketball, Volleyball, Dodge ball and Hockey. I picked up this game on Friday and spent a good majority of the weekend playing the multiple games. This game also includes party mode where you’re able to play some of the sports games mixed with some of Nintendo’s own little extras such as feed petey and smash skate.  Other modes included are Exhibition mode where you’re able to play one game and Tournament mode where you’re able to play mutable tournaments.

This game features four players and online players so you’re able to easily connect this game to your internet connection to play others online on Nintendo’s Wi-Fi connection, Nintendo made it fun adding you a friend roaster so you can easily team up with your friends who have this game or play against them.

Nintendo did a great job adding some of the greatest Nintendo characters of all time to this game here is the roster  Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach,  Bowser, Wario, Toad, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Yoshi, Waluigi, Bowser Jr, Princess Daisy and you’re personal Mii Character. There are also different stages or different stadiums such as Luigi’s mansion to Waluigi Pinball. Nintendo definitely put in their own little bit of flavor to this game although it’s a sports game there is a lot of extras such as coins to collect for extra points and Bob-Ombs  to steer clear of.

After countless hours checking out this game I found the controls easy to play. I really got into the Hockey, Basketball and most of all Volleyball but with one game of Dodge ball I became very frustrated. The online play for this game can be very hard because it seems like there’s so much going on and a lot of time you may pick the same characters as your opponents so you sometimes find yourself confused with which one you are. I really enjoyed this Mario game but you definitely need a lot of practice to join the online community. I’m giving this game 8 out of 10 it’s a great game and I would recommend it!

Thank you again for taking your time to read this blog!

Club Nintendo

Are you a gamer? Thousands of us buy multiple games every month. Lots of people are unaware about Nintendo’s reward program called Club Nintendo this website is a free rewards program, Have you seen the slips in your recent games or consuls that say join us at Club Nintendo? Almost every game and equipment you buy from Nintendo comes with a secret code to register on Club Nintendo.

Club Nintendo is a website based on getting your thoughts about your recent bought items from Nintendo what happens is you add you're Secret code into the Registry and Nintendo will give you a short survey asking you where you bought your new game or equipment and what made you buy it, 90 percent of the questions are multiple choice. After you finish the survey you will be given coins, within a few weeks to a month you will get another survey on your account asking you what you thought of the game after playing it. This is a great idea on Nintendo's part because it will help them to determine on how future games and equipment will be made so you're answers are very important.

The best thing about Club Nintendo is earning coins and they sure build up fast a lot of the games you register are 50 coins each plus the additional 20 coins for the after survey, These coins can be redeemed for limited edition Nintendo products such as Nintendo Dsi cases, Mario shelf’s and Animal Crossing Playing cards along with free shipping this is a great deal just for a couple of surveys to help are gaming community get better stuff released.

Also when you buy things from Nintendo and you register it you will gain status you will go from gold status to platinum status to elite status. The Club Nintendo year begins July 1st and ends on June 30th club Nintendo members that reach gold or platinum status by the end of the Nintendo year get sent another limited edition product! I'm currently on platinum and heading for elite! Got to love Nintendo what other gaming company does this for their fans? So next time when you buy a new game check for the Club Nintendo paper inside you won’t be disappointed. Thanks so much for reading my blog.

BudFits & CordFits

Yesterday I received some very interesting product to review. Have you ever had issues with you’re iphone or ipod ear buds falling out of your ears? I do, I’m never able to get these types of ear buds to stay in my ears and I find them constantly falling out and having to put them back on. Ive even tried to jam my iPod ear buds into my ears sideways just to get them to stop falling out and that was very painful. I have even considered buying new ear buds because of the annoyance of the apple product ear buds.

Innovelis makes an amazing product to fix this annoying problem called Bud Fits this product is soft and flexible and designed to wrap around the ears so you’re iPod ear buds will not fall out of the ear.  After trying this product out I have found that I can now wear my iPod ear buds without them constantly falling out. The product is soft and comfortable and also very secure.  The Budfits are easy to put on your ear buds and there easily removable. Bud Fits come in many different colors and there site offers free shipping. Bud Fits run from 8.99 on up and for that price you definitely cannot go wrong.

I also received a product for review called Cordfits this little device is cool! I talk on my cell phone using a headset with built in microphone and the cord is always in the way because of its length with Cordfits you’re able to customize the cord length of nearly all portable headphones. I’m able to pull the Cordfit and adjust the cord shorter and pull another way to make it longer very cool Innovelis! This product was very easy to use the instructions where quick and right to the point and I had no problem figureing out how to do it. You’re also able to wrap your cord around the device and clip your ear buds in the side for easy storage! I don’t know how many times I’ve had issues with cords tangled up in knots and I had issues getting them out! This product is also another great one!!

I would recommend both CordFits and Budfits to anyone looking for a simple fix to these everyday problems. Please check out Innovelis’s products at http://www.Budfits.com
